"I’ve dined in Moreno Cafe twice already, and definitely not my last! From the moment we stepped into the cafe, we were impressed by the warm and inviting atmosphere. The décor struck the perfect balance between style and comfort, very chic yet cozy. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome— attentive without being intrusive, and genuinely eager to ensure we had a wonderful dining experience. For me, staff’s customer service is incredibly important; it’s usually one of the major factors that makes me come back to a food establishment and Moreno Cafe definitely has amazing staff! The food was nothing short of outstanding. Each dish was beautifully presented, with flavours that were both creative and perfectly balanced. A beautiful modern twist of Philippines’ traditional cuisines — as a Filipino, I love this idea and it gives other people a chance to experience the wonderful Filipino flavours, yet remains familiar with the infusion to Kiwi palette. It’s clear that the chefs take great pride in their craft, paying attention not just to taste but also to freshness and detail. Every bite felt like a thoughtful composition. All the meals my friends and I tried are exquisite — from sweet to savoury. They also have freshly baked cakes & pastries; and their cakes are so delicious, they’re addictive! The Moreno Chocolate Cake, Basque Cheesecake and Ube Lamington are sensational! Overall, this restaurant exceeded every expectation. It wasn’t just a meal, but an experience that left us talking about it long after we left. If you’re looking for incredible food, outstanding service, and a welcoming ambiance, this is absolutely the place to go. A true gem — elevating dining into an unforgettable experience."

"What a wonderfully all encompassing experience. An elevated Filipino cuisine with a kiwi twist. Fresh and steaming fresh pastries and plates. Wow wow wow!!! And we’ve had matcha from all over the world and this was our first JACKFRUIT MATCHA!!"

"My partner and I had brunch there this morning and really enjoyed it. I had the beef mechado and my partner had the Basmati sinangag. Both really good and enjoyed the veggies in both dishes. The beef mechado was just the right serving size and filling, it was a nice switch up from a mince on toast with a poached egg and actually I preferred it. Staff were all really nice and attentive. Atmosphere was great especially on this sunny day. We decided to get an ube donut on our way out and it was a nice sweet treat to end the meal - light and fluffy dough with a nice ube icing."

"Great vibes, eclectic & delicious menu. I particularly like the fusion of traditional Filipino food like beef mechado - meat so tender, well seasoned, and tasty. I think the vegetable atchara (pickle) didn’t go well with it though as the beef was already acidic with tomato base. The corn beef & potato hash was okayish and the farm mushrooms and greens side is something I’d order again if I come back. The service was friendly and responsive. Portions can be larger considering the price and despite the great ambiance. Good stuff!"

The café gets very busy, especially on weekends, so reservations are highly recommended. "We've longed for a place like this in our area for over 20 years. Friends recommended Morena to us shortly after it opened. The food is exquisite, beautifully presented, and incredibly delicious. Each time we visit, we try a new item from the extensive menu, which offers a delightful fusion of Filipino and Kiwi cuisine that takes you on a culinary journey. This weekend we tried the Cornbread Benedict with Bacon and the Filipino version of a pancake. sooo good! The sourdough is light, tasty, and we always take a loaf home."
